The New Retirement

Retirement at 65 is not in the future for a lot of people these days.  As I think about my own retirement I cannot even begin to think about stopping what I do anytime in the near future.  In fact, I always joke that I will probably never retire because I love what I do so much.happyretirement

Stats Canada reports that 40% of Canadians will work past retirement age.  People are living longer, retiring earlier and some people can have 20+ years ahead of them when they retire.  Medical evidence shows that being physically and mentally active will go a long way to live a longer healthier life.

My alliance partner works with organizations and individuals to help them plan for their future. He helps them focus beyond the financial aspect of retirement.  His program helps participants look at their options, will they turn a hobby into a business, work part time, do volunteer work or go back to school? There are many options.

The Athena Alliance partner provides a comprehensive, independent and objective service hat addresses the growing need for personal and financial transition planning.

The program consists of home based exercises which prepare participants for an interactive workshop session. This program is designed to provide participants with a framework for making decisions about the life they want in the future. These lifestyle goals are then modeled by the participants so they can see and understand the financial consequences of their decisions and then take appropriate action. This modeling is accomplished using a specialized lifestyle modeling software. The end result is that the participant develops a blueprint for being able to cope with and take charge of change and transition regardless of what stage they are at in their lives.

In addition, this unique program is also available for corporations in a web based e– Learning format. This allows employees 24 hour access, anywhere in Canada. The program is designed to assist participants in building a framework from which they and their spouse or partner can make decisions about their future.
